Cape 31 UK ready for Round 2 at the Royal Thames Yacht Club

Updated: May 9

Flying Jenny are back, La Pericolosa are out, the Royal Thames Yacht Club is all set to host Round 2 of the UK Cape 31 Race Circuit. With 18 Cape 31s lining up for the challenge, the stage is set for a thrilling spectacle of speed, skill, and strategy.

Eyes on second place from Round 1 - Chaotic - Jason Ludlow

Building on the excitement and success of Round 1 at the Royal Southern Yacht Club just a few weeks ago, the teams are ready. German team La Pericolosa took the win, with Nick Phillips' Chaotic in second, and new owner Christian Hamilton’s Khumbu Red took third place. Irish team Antix took the overall win in the Corinthian/1 professional division.

With lighter winds forecast than the fleet had at Round 1, there will be a new test for the teams for this season, and we will likely see some mix-up on the podium.

Returning to the fleet after a brief absence from Round 1 while they raced in the Caribbean, Sandra Askew's Flying Jenny is back and will be vying for a top spot. Round 1 winners La Pericolosa are not competing at this event, so eyes will be on second place from Round 1, Chaotic, as well as Round 1 race winners Jiraffe, Bullit, and Antix.

With great prizes up for grabs from Class Partners Quantum Sails, Doyle Sails, and Harken, as well as the coveted Clyde International Cup and an invite to the prestigious Royal Thames Yacht Club Annual Dinner in London at the end of the year, the teams will be excited to get to the top spot!

Stay tuned for live updates over the weekend on social media as well as results on the Class Management System.
