Cape31 Capitano Crowned International IRC Champions in Macau!
Hong Kong’s Capitano, co-owned by Drew Taylor and Denis Martinet, dominated the competition to claim the MGM Macau International IRC Championship title. Leading the standings throughout the campaign, this Cape 31 powerhouse represented Hong Kong with pride, securing victory at the Greater Bay Area Cup Regatta.
The event saw fierce competition, with fellow Cape 31 Team Rampage, owned by Noel Chan, securing an impressive 3rd overall. A special shoutout goes to H3O, which closed out the regatta with a spectacular bullet in the final race—what a way to finish strong!
Running parallel to the action-packed IRC racing, the Match Racing World Tour delivered thrilling duels, with Ian Williams taking the top spot. Adding to the excitement, Dave Swete was on the ground in Macau match racing and cheering on the Cape31s!

Out of Africa Shines at the HKRNVR Yacht Race!
Amid cold winds and challenging conditions, the Cape 31 “Out of Africa” delivered an incredible performance in the iconic HKRNVR Yacht Race, finishing first off Taikoo Shing at 4:16:40 PM. Starting nearly an hour after the Pandora class, the sleek and lightweight Cape 31 took full advantage of shifting winds to catch and surpass the leading boats.
With 53 yachts battling it out across Victoria Harbour and Tseung Kwan O, the race showcased skill, strategy, and speed, with the Cape 31 proving its mettle against a competitive fleet.
